Obituary for Thomas "Tommy" Williams

Mr. Thomas (Tommy, Po-Tom) L. Williams was born in Dundee, MS October 14, 1950, the eldest of 15 children to the late L.B. & Annie Mae Williams. His brother, Jesse James Williams preceded him in death.

Tommy accepted Christ at an early age at McNeal Baptist Church in Tibbs, MS. He attended elementary schools in both Coldwater and Dundee, MS and high school at Rosa Fort in Tunica, MS.

Tommy had a great love for life and a zest for getting to know people in his unique way. Once
you met him he was hard to forget because he always left a lasting impression.

Tommy first love was farming, which started at the age of 7 working beside his father. That’s where his love for tractors and other farming equipment began. He was also a very skillful self-taught mechanic. Cooking was a passion of his and whomever he met he always wanted to sit and share some his cooking with them. In 1979 Tommy moved to Chicago and expanded his mechanical skills to include Diesel trucks. He never met a mechanical job he wouldn’t tackle.

Tommy departed his life on June 11, 2018, he leaves to cherish the love of his life Idell Fulton, four daughters; Della Ann Williams of Detroit, MI; Tammy Wilson of Clarksdale, MS; Tramonica McClendon of Kansas City, KS and Laurita L. Fulton of Chicago, IL; one son Adrian (A.C.) Collins of Lula, MS.

Nine brothers (the Williams or Bull boys) are L.B. (Viola) of Tunica, MS; Lonnie, Larry (Fannie), James (Shun), Tracy (Anita), and Tyrone Williams (Katicha) all of Chicago, IL; Reginald (Minnie) of Lexa, AR; Roderick (Chasity) and Lee Andrew of Memphis, TN.

Four sisters (the Williams or Bull girls) are Gloria Rucker (Pete) and Jewell Williams of Memphis, TN; Willa Turner (Mose) and Dora Smith (Carl) of Dundee, MS.

A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
